Supplies Needed
Get 2 Planks of Untreated Wood
Most local hardware stores sell small planks of untreated wood and will even cut them to size!
Decide on the length of the plank based on the size of your space and your number of leash hangers.
It usually works best to have the top of the shelf be narrower than the back.Get Stain, 2 Paint Brushes and 2 Shelf Brackets
Remember to get a wood stain colour you'll love!Get 2 identical untreated wooden shelf brackets.
Get Metallic Paint, Dog Coat Hooks, Picture Frames, Glue, Spray Paint and Screws
Buy a small bottle of metallic acrylic paint.A small bottle of wood glue and a can of clear spray paint.
Start Your Project
Step 1 - Stain The Wood
After your wood planks are cut to size, stain it.Step 2 - Paint The Dog Coat Hooks & Picture Frames
Remove the glass from the picture frames, drybrush the black picture frames and dog coat hooks with metallic acrylic paint. Remove the glass from the picture frames.Once dry, apply a coat or two of clear matte spray paint to protect your dry brushing.
Step 3 - Insert Photos of Your Dogs
Put the glass back in the picture frames and put some cute photos of your dogs in the picture frames. This makes it easy to tell which hook belongs to which dog.
Step 4 - Put It All Together
Use wood glue and screws to put together the two planks of wood and two shelf brackets.Use the screws to hang the picture frames or use magnetic strips for a more flush look.
